The wireless sensor network is a key to analyze and control all information in the era of internet of things (IoT). To demonstrate the wireless network in IoT, bulky batteries are universaly used and should be replaced periodically due to limited capacity. However, the maintenance of a millilon sensor nodes would be impractical, which obstructs the commercialization of the IoT. In this paper, we develop a high-performance flexible piezoelectric energy harvesting device enabled by aerosol deposited PZT thick film on a plastic substrated to demostrate the self-powered wireless sensor-node system. The flexible PZT harvester can generate an open-circuit voltage of 200V and a short-circuit current of 35 ㎂ by bending/unbending motions. Finally, the harvested electricity was used to operate a self-powered wire-less tempearture sensor node by integrating the AD PZT harvester, rectifying/storage elements, a temperature-sensing processor and radiofrequency transmitter. |
