In this report, the new generation novel architecture of fully continuous solution processed inverted type organic solar cells (IOSCs) based on fibrous transparent conducting electrodes (FTCEs) was fabricated by the combination of stripe-patterned Ag metal sub-electrodes embedded into flexible transparent substrate and ultra-thin electrodes via printing process. The fabricated TCEs able to achieve semi-transparent (optical transmittance > 70%; 550 nm), highly conducting (sheet resistance ≈ 20 ohm/sq) and high flexibility (bending radius ≈ 0.5 mm) electrodes with ultra-smooth surface (rms roughness ≈ 0.4 nm). In addition, the fabricated devices exhibit insignificant degradation in their photovoltaic performance even after being bent at extremely low bending radius. Furthermore, this process is very highly reproducible compared and promising for the roll-to-roll processing. |
