Characterization of dendrigraft copolymers and linear chains in solutions and blends by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) |
초록 |
The SANS contrast matching method allowed detailed profiling of the radial segment density within the core and shell phases of arborescent PS-graft-PS-d copolymers. The higher generation G3PS-graft-PS-d copolymer had a better defined core-shell structure than the lower generation G2PSgraft-PS-d copolymer. The high- concentration labeling method of SANS was also applied to symmetric blends of deuterated poly(dimethylsiloxane) (d-PDMS) and poly(ethylmethylsiloxane) (PEMS) as a function of temperature (T) and the molecular weight (Mw). These blends remain microscopically inhomogeneous at all temperatures studied in this work. At the same time, the low Mw blends are randomly mixed (ξ < Rg) at all T and can reach the ‘ideal mixing’ or Θ condition (χ = 0). |
