The synthesis of ester was achieved by using H-ZSM-5 zeolites as catalysts under conditions similar to the classical case with sulfuric acid catalyst. The ester was synthesized to react oleic acid and alcohol. The ester were characterized by Acid Value, GC, NMR and so on. This reaction was used to sulfuric acid as catalysts on an earlier occasion. Moreover using an anti-oxidant which is very toxic. Therefore existing method have the problem that separation and environment. Solid acid catalysts is heterogeneous and is not necessary to use an anti-oxidant in esterification reaction. |
