In this study, the dispersion of Cadmium Selenide/ Zinc Sulfide quantum dots (CdSe/ZnS QDs) in silicone oil (methyl phenyl silicone oil) was carried out by using solution method and solvent evaporation. Turbidity and fluorescence of QD/Silicone oil systems were measured by Turbidimeter and Fluorescence spectrometer, respectively. Fluorescence enhancement by using different additional ligands such as siloxane-based polymer, silazane-based polymer, hexamethylene diamine, cysteamine, triethylsilane, hexamethyl disilazane (HMDS) was investigated. The result shows that reactive amine (such as HMDS that involve Silicon component can make a physical bond with silicone oil and Nitrogen component can make a physical bond with original ligand Trioctylamine or surface of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots) is found to be good ligand for dispersing QDs in silicone oil and therefore, enhancing fluorescence of CdSe/ZnS dispersed in methyl phenyl silicone oil. |
