Synthesis and Characterization of Tb doped Y2O3 Powders by a Solvothermal Process |

Tb doped Y2O3 powders were prepared under solvothermal condition by precipitation from metal nitrates with aqueous ammonium hydroxide. The powders were obtained at temperatures between 210℃ and 250℃. The microstructure and characterization of the synthesized Tb doped Y2O3 powders were studied by XRD, FE-SEM, PL. The properties of Tb doped Y2O3 powders were studied as a function of various processing parameters such as reaction temperature and solvent ratio. The shape of the Tb doped Y2O3 changed by reaction temperature and solvent ratio. Upon excitation with ultraviolet(UV) irradiation, it is shown that there are emission peak at 544nm corresponding to the forced electric dipole 5D3-7F5 transition of Tb3+, respectively. |
