Photocatalytic Oxidation Mechanismof As(III) on TiO2 : The Role of Superoxide |
| 초록 |
Previously we have reported that superoxide plays the primary role as oxidant of As(III) in the UV/TiO2 system, however, since then there has been a controversy over the true identity of the major As(III) oxidant (superoxide or VB hole/OH radical). This study reconfirms that superoxides are mainly responsible for the photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) of As(III) by investigating the visible-light-sensitized system (surface complex of 4-CP on TiO2) and monitoring the formation of OH radicals using fluorescence method. This study provides more direct experimental evidences for the involvement of the superoxide in As(III) oxidation. |
