제목 Synthesis of silicon nano-particles for printable electronics
초록  The need of small-sized and compact electronic devices has generated a great interest among researchers around the world to focus on the size dependent properties of silicon nano-particles. Printable electronics is one lucrative prospect to assemble such devices, as advanced printing processes are available nowadays along with the traditional processes. Growing interest in flexible displays in macro-electronics makes nano-Si highly desirable due to its significant semi-conductor properties. The present work addresses synthesis of silicon nano-particles by a simple, one-pot solution reduction technique. A study of use of capping agents has also been carried out to understand the mechanism of synthesis as well as to achieve the desired product. HR-TEM images showed the presence of silicon nano-clusters from 3-12 nm and EDAX analysis confirmed the presence of elemental silicon. Silicon nano-particles synthesized by using different reagents show similar optical properties. The green light emitting particles has similar absorbance profile with peaks around 295 nm and 340 nm.  These Si-nano-particles are prepared for its application as a channel material in thin-film transistor (TFT) which will be tested in the near future.
