Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can cause a serious damage on human health. Among VOCs, a toluene is one of the representative substances of VOCs for its wide usage. Adsorption is one of the most effective methods to remove toluene. In this study, we investigated the adsorption performance of modified zeolite and periodic mesoporous organosilicate (PMO). Effect of pore size and pore size distribution of Zeolite on the adsorption performance for toluene. Also, PMO was synthesized by using two different kind of organosilicate precursors. To confirm pore structures, the prepared absorbents were characterized using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The adsorption performance of modified zeolite and PMO for toluene was measured at 100 ppm of toluene in the continuous flow system. |
