제목 | The Effects of Polymerization Inhibitor on the Polymerization of Functional Methacrylate Monomers in the Preparation of Polymeric Dental Composite |
초록 | A composite is defined as a mixture of two or more chemically different materials with a distinct interface between them. Polymeric dental composites(PDC) generally consist of primary components such as organic resin matrix, inorganic fillers, coupling agent and other additives include stabilizers, polymerization inhibitor, pigments etc. In the studies, we investigated for the effect of polymerization inhibitor on the polymerization of functional methacrylate monomer as light curing type of PDC. Generally speaking, because dimethacrylate in PDC can polymerize spontaneously under normal storage conditions and can influence the PDC's stability. The effect of polymerization inhibitor on the polymerization of functional methacrylate monomer was studied. In order to measure the effect of polymerization inhibitor, PDC containing polymerization inhibitor was prepared using the visible light activation system. The resin matrix system of PDC was composed of functional methacrylate monomer as 2,2'-bis-[4-(3-methacryloxy-2-hydroxypropoxy)phenyl] propane, triethylene glycol dimethacrylate, and urethane dimethacrylate etc. Two component hybrid-filler system composed of barium silicate (avg. dia : 1㎛), fumed silica (avg. dia : 0.04㎛) was adopted as a filler system. The contents of polymerization inhibitor were varied from 0.02 to 1.5 wt% based on resin matrix. In the present study, effect of polymerization inhibitor on the polymerization properties and mechanical properties of PDC were investigated by measuring degree of conversion, polymerization shrinkage, depth of cure, flexural strength, and compressive strength values. |
