제목 | Transition metal dichalcogenides for hydrogen evolution reaction |
초록 | Recently, MoS2 and WS2 have attracted increasing attention because of their great potential as semiconductors of electronic devices such as field-effect transistors, organic photovoltaics, memory, logic, and energy storage devices. The transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) were prepared by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method or sonication process. This talk will show that two dimensional materials could be used as catalyst and electrode for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). In case of MoS2 synthesized using CVD, we demonstrate that MoS2 can provide a low onset potential of 1 mA/cm2 at 0.17 V versus a reversible hydrogen electrode and the high photocurrent density of 24.6 mA/cm2 at 0 V for a p-type Si photocathode. In case of TMDs fabricated by sonication method, MoS2 and TiS2 exhibited the best HER performance with Tafel slopes of 94.91 and 91 mV/decade. Furthermore, nanosheet and nanodot forms of MoS2 and WS2 attract much attention. Therefore, a comparison of the characteristics of transition metal dichalcogenides nanosheets and nanodots will be discussed for their applications.
