The adsorption behaviour of bacteriorhodopsin (bR) molecules onto the modifiedself-assembled monolayers on gold was investigated. The self-assembled monolayersof 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid (11-MUA) on gold surface were used as a templatefor the adsorption of bacteriorhodopsin (bR). Using poly-L-lysine (PL), as abridging molecule for bR adsorption onto SAMs of 11-MUA, bR thin films werefabricated. The photoelectric response characteristics of the molecular thin filmswere analyzed with various fabrication conditions, such as pH and concentration.
