Recently in contemporary society as display industry went through rapid development along with the development of information technology industry, dyes and pigment materials are extending in their potential of being applied as the core material of color filter (CF) that implements full color spectrum of liquid crystal display (LCD). The way dyes and pigments work in CF is that when white-backlight is injected to CF, red, green and blue pigments, it implements full color spectrum by respectively reflecting or absorbing light of particular wavelength. The prepared titanium complex molecules show a green color with a high molar extinction coefficient at around 430 nm and 630 nm and also exhibit a high thermal stability. In this work, we report a new class of green color filter materials, consisting of a titanium (IV) metal, a dithiolate ligand and different alkyl ligands. These titanium complexes are readily prepared by a two step and have a good solubility in common organic solvents. |
