제목 Synthesis and characterization of water-soluble chitosan using anhydride- terminated poly(ethylene oxide) and its use for preparation of iron oxide nanoparticles
초록 We have studied to improve the water-solubility of chitosan by simple methods. To prepare water-soluble chitosan modified by using poly(ethyene oxide) (PEO), anhydride-terminated PEO was first synthesized. n-Butyllithium-initiated ring-opening polymerization of ethylene oxide with t-BuOK has been successfully performed in the mixture of dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and benzene like a living manner at 40℃, followed by chain-end functionalization resulting in the formation of ω-anhydride PEO. Chitosan was depolymerized by using nitrous acid deaminative cleavage to obtain a low molecular weight (Mw). Chitosan -g- PEO was synthesized by the reaction of chitosan with ω-anhydride PEO and phthalic anhydride in dimethylformamide (DMF) at 130℃ for 8h. We were successfully prepared magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles using Chitosan -g- PEO as a surfactant.
