Synthesis and X-ray Crystal Structure ofAn 18-membered Tricyclic Compound |

The synthesis of new isoxazole derivatives is attractive because many isoxazoles have a variety of biological activities in pharmaceutical and agricultural areas. The 18-membered tricyclic compound including two isoxazole rings was prepared by the intermolecular 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of a nitrile oxide containing an alkyne moiety within the structure. The structure was confirmed by its NMR, MS and X-ray crystallographic analyses. The asymmetric unit contains one half of the formula unit and a centre of inversion is located at the centroid of the compound. The intra- and intermolecular π-π stacking interactions exist between the isoxazole rings. |
