제목 | Composite of SIS sheet and poly(vinyl alcohol) for wound dressing |
초록 | It is well known that the moist healing environment is beneficial for wound healing, and moist wounds are healed 40% faster than wounds exposed to the air. Therefore, hydrogel is recognized as a proper wound dressing material. Hydrogel is also impermeable to bacteria and easy to remove. PVA is an example of hydrogel. In this study, small intestine submucosa(SIS) mainly composed of collagen, glycosaminoglycan and growth factors was coated with PVA to improve their mechanical properties and wound healing for wound dressing. The samples were prepared by immersing SIS sheets into PVA solutions of 2 w% and 4w% and then lyophilized. Three different molecular weight of PVA were used for this study. The surface morphology of the composite was observed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and water uptake ability was examined to evaluate the possibility as a wound dressing. Also, the enzymatic degradation test was carried out to find out the effect of PVA and compared with native SIS sheet. The SIS-PVA composite showed lower enzymatic degradation than native SIS sheet. IN conclusion, SIS-PVA composite can be used as a wound healing and tissue construction. (a) (b) Fig 1.
