Monolayer films with a hexagonally ordered nanostructure can be fabricated from a solution of diblock copolymer micelles such as PS-b-P2VP and PS-b-PEO by coating methods. To synthesize various inorganic nanoparticles in the ordered film, inorganic salts, as a precursor of nanoparticles, can be selectively incorporated to the PVP or PEO core block of micellar solutions. In this study, spherical micelles PS-b-P2VP-b-PEO triblock copolymers were obtained in toluene solutions. Then, inorganic salts were selectively loaded into the P2VP block, the PEO block, or both blocks. From this solution, monolayer films of the triblock copolymer micelles were fabricated by spin coating. The film was then characterized mainly by TEM and AFM. In addition, micelles of PS-b-PEO, PS-b-P2VP, and P2VP-b-PEO diblock copolymers were studied for comparison. |
