Temperature histories and trajectories of TiO2 nanoparticles in diffusion flame reactor |

A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was employed to obtain gas temperature and gas velocity profiles in the oxy-methane diffusion flame reactor during the formation of TiO2 nanoparticles and the collection of TiO2 nanoparticles by a filter. The particles starting from different initial positions in radial direction will move in different trajectories. The particles starting at an initial position further from the central axis will spend longer time in the gas phase and deposit on a higher position of the filter. The particles synthesized at a higher CH4 flow rate have an experience in a higher temperature history than the particles synthesized at a lower CH4 flow rate. |
