The template approach to nanostructured materials opened an inexhaustible opportunity for the materials chemistry community. Example includes nanostructured titania thin film prepared via template strategy, leading to the intriguing physical properties and promising applications. In many cases, the morphology and crystallinity of these nanostructured materials significantly affect their performance, and it is very crucial to effectively control the structure and morphology of such hybrid materials. In this study, titania-block copolymer hybrids have been synthesized with variable morphologies in a reproducible way based on the template approach. Polystyrene-block-poly(ethylene oxide) block copolymers, as a structure-directing agent, was first dissolved in 1,4-dioxane, followed by successive addition of titania precursor. The structure and morphology were systematically examined as a function of relative composition of components via AFM, SEM and GISAXS. |
