Nanocomposites of Polypyrrole and Hydrotalcite |

In this study, the nanocomposites of polypyrrole and hydrotalcite were prepared in an aqueous medium in the presence of hydrotalcite. SBA was used as both dopant and intercalating agent. The dc conductivity (σdc) of PPy-SBA with hydrotalcite was ~14 S/cm, while that of PPy-SBA without hydrotalcite was ~38 S/cm at room temperature. In order to confirm the intercalation or exfoliation between hydrotalcite layers X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis was studied. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) demonstrated enhancement of the thermal stability of the nanocomposites relative to the PPy-SBA without hydrotalcite. |
