In this study, photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB, C16H18N3S•Cl•3H2O) in water was examined using CNT/ TiO2 composites. These composites were prepared with a MCPBA oxidation method from multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with different mixing ratios of titanium (Ⅳ) n-butoxide (TNB) and Benzene. Several tools such as BET surface area, SEM, XRD, and EDX, were used to evaluate physical parameter, particle structure, crystal structure of TiO2, and elemental analysis. Photocatalytic activity of the particles was studied in a reactor containing MB solution with UV irradiation. Consequently, it can be considered that the photocatalytic decomposition of MB solution and UV irradiation time could be attributed to combination effects between TiO2 and MWCNTs with plausible photodegradation mechanism. |
