We developed the new synthetic routes to diamines with pendant bulky perfluorinated aromatic units. Poly(hydroxyl-imide)s were then prepared by using novel fluorinated diamines with 3-D controlled structure and perfluorinated dianhydride. Further, sol-gel polyimide precuosors were obtained from the coupling reaction of poly(hydroxyl-imide)s with 3-(triethoxysily)propyl isocyanate. Using sol-gel precursors, a series of Er3+-doped hybrid materials was prepared with Er(NO3)3∙5H2O & TEOS by sol-gel technique. The hybrid precursors were spin-coated and further polycondensed by curing at 200 oC for 3h. The chemical identification of the hybrid materials was achieved by 1H-, 19F-NMR & 29Si-NMR spectroscopies as well as FT-IR and PL spectroscopies. Hybrid materials were stable above 350 oC. In this presentation, the synthesis & photophysical properties of the resultant Er3+-doped hybrid films for potential applications in planar waveguide amplifier materials will be discussed. |
