제목 | Investigation of Guest Distribution and Crystal Structure in a Binary [cyclic alcohols + methane] Clathrate Hydrate |
초록 | Here, thermal expansion behaviors of binary [cyclic alcohols + methane] clathrate hydrates are investigated using spectroscopic tools, such as, the solid–state 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and powder X-Ray diffraction (PXRD). As structure II (sII) hydrate forming agents, cyclobutanol, cyclopentanol and cyclohexanol are used in the presence of methane gas. The guest distribution and crystal structure of binary (cyclic alcohols + methane) hydrates are identified to be sII hydrate through solid–state 13C NMR experiments. It is confirmed that [cyclobutanol + methane] hydrate exhibits smaller lattice expansion than the [cyclopentanol + methane] or [cyclohexanol + methane] hydrates under thermal stimulations from PXRD results. Finally, the thermodynamic stability of [cyclic alcohols + CH4] hydrates was measured and that of [cyclobutanol + methane] hydrates are milder than the [cyclopentanol + methane] or [cyclohexanol + methane] hydrates.
