Although PEDOT-insoluble polymer, it can obtain a dispersion of PEDOT:PSS by the poly(styrene sulfonic acid)(PSSA) using a water-soluble polyelectrolyte. PEDOT: PSS is the most promising organic electrode material in the conductive polymer due to the inherent advantages such as transparency and long-term stability and an aqueous solution processibility. Despite the many advantages and the PEDOT:PSS synthesis methods for enhancements the conductivity it was not reported. Therefore, we investigate about molecular weight of PSSA factors in the synthesis of PEDOT:PSS and evaluation of conductivity. In this work, we found that the conductivity of PEDOT:PSS films can be significantly enhanced by increasing molecular weight of PSSA. This conductivity increase can be explained with contact of PEDOT chain on PSSA chain with different length. At the same concentration and the ratio, the higher the molecular weight of PSSA long chains of lower molecular weight than the PSSA has a large amount of PEDOT can be complexed. This gives a significant effect on conductivity. |
