제목 | Release Kinetics of Alendronate from Chitosan Microsphere |
초록 | Chitosan (CHN) is widely used as biomaterials due to its biocompatibility and biodegradability. In particular, CHN molecule carries highly positive charges different from most of other biomolecules. CHN can be used as a drug carrier in drug delivery system. In this study, we prepared alendronate-loaded CHN microspheres and evaluated the efficacy of drug loading and release pattern. The physicochemical properties of drug-loaded CHN microspheres including size, surface charge, surface morphology were thoroughly examined using zeta potential, scanning electron microscope. The drug release pattern was evaluated using high performance liquid chromatography. The effects of drug release on the growth and differentiation of osteoblastic cells were characterized via cellular assays.
