제목 Ceramic Coating-mediated Improvement of Bioactivity of Polymeric Scaffold
초록 Synthetic polymers are widely used as tissue substitutes due to their biocompatibility, fabricability, and economical feasibility. Biodegradable polymers, in particular, attract greater research interest since they can not only supplement the damaged tissue but be replaced with newly generated tissues. The intrinsic surface hydrophobicity of the synthetic polymers negatively affects their biocompatibility. In this study, we prepared highly porous 3D polymeric scaffolds for the usage of bone substitutes. In order to improve their surface hydrophilicity, the surface of the scaffolds was modified with hydrophilic ceramic coatings. SEM and EDX examinations demonstrated the prepared scaffolds were highly porous and modified with ceramic coating. The bioactivity of the scaffolds was examined via cell assays, including proliferation and differentiation. Our results clearly demonstrated that the surface modification significantly stimulated osteoblastic growth and differentiation
