CO2 is main source of global warming. So, CO2 utilization becomes spotlighted research. A nitrogen containing carbon materials have been applied as a support material with palladium catalyst for formic acid (FA) synthesis from CO2 hydrogenation under neutral condition, CO2 + H2 → HCOOH. The key point of this reaction is CO2 adsorption. Many research reported N-carbon has CO2 adsorption sites. So, nitrogen containing carbon materials can become good CO2 adsorbent. On the other hand, palladium catalyst on nitrogen containing carbon materials can be used to reversible formate and bicarbonate reaction. The reversible formate and bicarbonate reaction can be used to store and release hydrogen (H2), HCO3- + H2 ↔ HCO2- + H2O. In this reaction, hydrogen adsorption is important part. So, support can be used high surface area carbon materials. |
