제목 Development of Novel Benzoxazole Trimethine CyanineDyes with Narrow Absorption Width by Introducing meso-Substitution and Counter Anion​
초록 A color filter isused to improve the color purity of the OLED display, compensating the spectrum by absorbing color boundariesof the RGB region. Dyes for the color filter should have a full width at half-maximum(FWHM) within 30 nm and low fluorescence quantum yield. Benzoxazole trimethine cyaninedyes have some advantages such as narrow absorption bandwidth and relatively inexpensiveproduct cost compared to the commercial dyes used in the existing color filter.However, the cyanine dyes still show high fluorescence quantum yield as well asFWHM more than 30 nm. In this study, toreduce the half-width and the fluorescence quantum yield of cyanine dyes, wesynthesized a series of cyanine dyes by introducing an ethyl group at the mesoposition and a bistriflimide (TFSI) counter anion. The half-width of the newly synthesizedcyanine dye showed a 30% reduction and a dramatic decrease of fluorescence quantumyield was accomplished compared to the cyanine dyes without a meso substituent.
