제목 Evaluation of multi-layers Small Intestinal Submucosa (SIS) Sheet for Wound healing
초록 The main effect of most skin substitutes is to promote wound healing by stimulating the host to produce various cytokines. These cytokines promote healing by stimulating the production of cmoponents in the basement membrane, so preventing dehydration and increasing inflammation, and promoting the formation of granulation tissue. Porcinal small intestinal submucosa (SIS) has been shown to be rich in components which support angiogenesis such as fibronectin, glycosaminoglycans, several collagens and angiogenic growth factors which induce site-specific tissue remodeling. The wound improves healing activity and feels comfortable when the wound area shows the weak acidity. So, for SIS sheets having the weak acidity, we prepared SIS sheets swelled by 1% acetic acid with shaking for 24 hours at room temperature. And until the pH of DW was about 5.5, SIS sheets were washed by DW over 10 times. For multi-layer SIS sheets, SIS sheets were piled up another SIS sheets. And we prepared SIS sheets by spreading and freeze-drying. The prepared SIS sheets were evaluated their characteristics such as water uptake ability in various buffers, surface morphology and moisture vapor transmission rate. From this study, SIS is regarded as an appropriate biodegradable material able to dress the wound like a burn in substitution of the traditional artificial composite materials the expected to be used as the biological dressings.
