Surface modification of quantum dots, their application in the lithography process and investigation of energy transfer phenomena |

In this contribution the design and synthesis of new materials based on a core/shell/shell system are presented which are different in diameter and therefore emit in various colors. (CdSe@ZnS@SiO2, CdZnS@ZnS@SiO2) Due to the attaching of a long spacer, Igepal CO-520 (IG), or a short spacer, 11-mercapto-1-undecanol (MUD), on the surface of the CdSe@ZnS (CdZnS@ZnS) nanoparticles, the silica shell can be grown spherical around their surfaces and investigation of the mechanism was carried out. Depending on the used silica sources we have successfully equipped them with end groups which are different in the chain length (CL) and also have certain functional groups (FG) what enables e.g. to embed them in the lithography to obtain fluorescent 2D and 3D structures. Furthermore, we present the results of the investigation concerning the energy transfer phenomena (e.g. SERS) between the CdSe@ZnS-MUD@SiO2-CL-FG nanoparticles and a gold nanowire. |
