제목 | Synthesis and color tuning of poly(p-phenylene) (PPP)-based copolymers |
초록 | Poly(p-phenylene) (PPP) has been produced as an engineering plastics of high mechanical strength and good thermal stability. However, PPP makes robust films but its poor solubility and low quantum efficiency are critical handicaps for commercial use. In this study, PPP-based copolymers synthesized by substituting alkoxy group on side-chains were soluble in common organic solvents and by alternating copolymerization using low band gap comonomer were showed color tuning. A series of copolymers, poly{2,5-bis(2'-ethylhexyloxy-phenylene)-1,4-diyl-co-2,5-bis(2-thienyl-1-cyano vinyl)-1-(2'- ethylhexyloxy)-4-methoxybenzene-5",5"'-diyl} (PPTCVB), were synthesized from the monomers 2,5-dibromo-1,4-bis(3'-ethylhexyloxy benzene and 2,5-bis(2-(5'-bromothienyl)-1-cyanovinyl)-1-(2"-ethylhexyloxy)-4-methoxybenzene (BTCVB) through the Ni(0)-mediated polymerization. In this presentation, the synthetic route, the characteristics of the structure, the UV-visible absorption, the photoluminescent (PL) property and the electroluminescent (EL) property of the resulting copolymers will be discussed. |
