제목 | The comparison of free radical and redox system on the surface modification of UHMWPE powder |
초록 | N,N-dimethyl-p-toluidine, as an accelerator under redox system was used for polymerizing MMA monomer on the temperature condition that broken the carbonyl chain of BPO and then the polymerized MMA was precoated to the surface of UHMWPE powder. SEM, UTM, FTIR-ATR, and digital thermometer were used for the mechanical, chemical, and thermal properties of the MMA surface-precoating UHMWPE powder on the two systems. It was confirmed that the mechanical properties of redox system was better than those of free radical system. This result was supposed that MMA was sufficiently wetted to the surface of UHMWPE powder on redox system. But, under redox system, the thermal properties was inferior to those of free radical system. It might be suggested that N,N-dimethyl-p-toluidine may be elevated the boiling point(90~92ºC).
