A novel Bipolar compound 9-(3,5-di(9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)-9H-cyclopenta[1,2-c:4,3-c']dipyridine (99PC) was successfully prepared and could be used as the host materials of blue and green phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. The triplet energy of 99PC was 2.88 eV and it was high enough for energy transfer to a blue and green emitting phosphorescent dopant. A green device consisting of indium tin oxide /poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): polystyrenesulfonate (60 nm)/4,4’-(cyclohexane-1,1-diyl)bis(N-phenyl-N-p-tolylaniline)(20 nm)/1,3-bis(N-carbazolyl)benzene (10 nm)/99PC : fac-tris(2-phenylpyridine) iridium (IrPPy3, 30 nm, 5%)/diphenylphosphine oxide-4-(triphenylsilyl)phenyl (25 nm)/LiF (1 nm)/Al (200 nm) was used. Blue phosphorescent device was used bis[(4,6-difluorophenyl)-pyridinato-N,C2]picolinate instead of IrPPy3 as blue emitter. The quantum efficiency of green and blue devices at 1,000 cdm-2 was 21.1% and 12.2%, respectively. |
