Thermal Properties of CaMgSi2O6 / BN Composites |

Boron nitride (BN) filled CaMgSi2O6 glass ceramics were prepared to improve the thermal properties of diopside (CaMgSi2O6) glass ceramics. The effects of BN content on the thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of CaMgSi2O6 / BN composites were investigated. With increasing of BN content, the CTE was decreased, while the thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity of the specimens were increased up to 5 vol.% of the BN content and then decreased. These results could be attributed to the degree of crystallization and the increase of interfacial thermal resistance, respectively. The crystallization behavior and microstructures of CaMgSi2O6 / BN composites were also discussed. |
