CO2 Absorption by Alkaline Aqueous Solutions |

Removal of carbon dioxide from industrial exhausts is essential for manufacturing processes. Aqueous monoethanolamine(MES) is one of plausible chemical absorbents for CO2absorption. This study forcuses comparatively on characterization of CO2 absorption using MEA solution and alkaline aqueous solutions(amino acid & alkaline hydroxide). The absorption capacity of test alkali metal salts in an aqueous phase was evaluated both in a batch and continuous processes. The present experiment provided an alternative alkali solution for effective CO2 sorption.
