Recently, intensive research interests have been focused on the formulation of carbon dots (CDs) with high aqueous solubility, fluorescence, chemical stability, and biocompatibility as new prominent functional carbon nanomaterials. Previously, either microwave or hydrothermal operation has been used for the synthesis of highly fluorescent CDs. In this study, simple one-step hydrothermal reaction is performed by utilizing polyamide type monomer sets for synthesis. Succinic acids (SA) and tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (TAEA) are used as both A2 and B3 type polyamide monomer sets, respectively. Within 5 hrs, CDs showing intense fluorescence are easily prepared and separated with high yield. The high solubility of prepared CDs in polar solvents containing water, methanol, and ethanol facilitates the various applications of CDs including bioimaging, etc. 2016년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음. |
