In this study, cation exchange membranes were prepared using melt polycondensation. The block copolymer was synthesized by two step polymerization using 5-sulfoisophthalate sodium salt(DMSIP), 1,6-hexandiol(HDO), isophthalic acid(IPA), and maleic anhydride(MA). After synthesizing the block copolymer, ion exchange membranes were prepared by UV curing using pentaerythritol triacrylate (PETA) as a crosslinking agent. The chemical structure of the block copolymer was investigated by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and FT-IR. Thermal properties of the synthesized ionomer were investigated using TGA and DSC. And the basic properties of membranes were measured such as water uptake, ion exchange capacity, ion conductivity, electrical resistance |
