Preparation of soluble graphene with the help of coffee and wine |

The chemical reduction of graphene oxide (GO) typically involves highly toxic reducing agents such as hydrazine and sodium borohydride. Those reducing agents are harmful for human health and environment, and further complicated surface modification is often needed to avoid aggregation of the reduced GO (rGO) during reduction process. In this study, we present soluble rGO can be effectively prepared from GO through the simultaneous reduction and grafting of catecholic compounds present in coffee and table-top red wine. The detailed compositional and morphological features of rGO will be presented in detail. |
