On-line reactive extraction of succinic acid from fermentation broth by TOA/1-Octanol solution |

Succinic acid has recently receivecd increasing attention because of usage as the monomer of biodegradable polymer. The fermentative production of succinic acid has received a great deal of attention as an alternative and environmentally friendly process to the petrochemical process. In this study, we investigated the on-line reactive extraction of succinic acid with tri-n-octylamine(TOA) in 1-octanol from fermentation broth to design the continuous process for the fermentative production of succinic acid. We observed the effects of the flow rate and initial concentration of succinic acid and tri-n-octylamine(TOA) on removal rate and efficiency of succinic acid. |
