Poly ε-caprolatone (PCL) has been approved to be used in biomedical application like tissue engineering. To improve the biocompatibility of PCL nanofiber matrix, plasma technology was adopted. Compare to vacuum plama, atmospheric plasma has several advantages such as cost effectiveness and feasibility of continuous process. Nonwoven PCL-nanofiber matrix was prepared by electrospinning, activated by the plasma and functionalized by conjugating polyacrylic acid. Resulting fiber matrix was modified by collagen (type-1). The surface of modified PCL-nanofiber was characterized by toluidine blue O staining, immunostaining, FT-IR, XPS and SEM. Results showed that the surface of PCL fibers was modified with collagen. |
