Rigid cross-linked PVC foams (c-PVC) exhibited a high performance, which are widely used as a core materials in sandwich structures for the applications where damage tolerance and weight saving are required, for example, wind energy, aerospace, transport, and industry applications. A key factor for preparing c-PVC foam with high performance is the formation of cross-linked network within PVC matrix under preconditions of good cellular structure. In this study, the effects of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole (ATA) on the physical and mechanical properties of the c-PVC form were investigated. With increasing ATA content, compression modulus and tensile modulus of c-PVC foam increased due to the increase in physical crosslinking density by the addition of ATA. |
