Enhanced electrolyte-accessible surface area of electrode using a polymer gel electrolyte for high-performance, flexible energy storage |
초록 |
Flexible energy storages have been attracting considerable interest driven by the needs for power sources which are flexible to be integrated into flexible electronics. Here we synthesize solid polymer gel electrolytes consisting of poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (PEGMA) and trimethylolpropane ethoxylate triacrylate (ETPTA) by UV curing. Both ionic conductivity and mechanical stability are modulated by varying the composition of PEGMA and ETPTA as well as the content of lithium salt solution (1M LiPF6 EC/DMC) in the polymers. Solid polymer gel electrolyte with large ionic conductivity (10-3 S/cm) at the expense of mechanical stability is impregnated into electrode layer that can enhance electrolyte-accessible surface area of electrode while one with large mechanical strength and relatively small ionic conductivity (~10-4 S/cm) is employed as a flexible film onto the electrodes that can impede internal short-circuit failures between electrodes facing each other. |
