Regenerated Cellulose Fiber via Dry Jet-Wet Spinning Process Using Cotton Linter Pulp-NMMO Monohydrate Solution and Its Physical Properties |

Lyocell is a regenerated cellulose fiber produced by dry jet-wet spinning from a solution of cellulose in NMMO. Lyocell process provides an eco-friendly, less toxic, relatively simple method for producing regenerated cellulose fiber with outstanding properties. Conventional wood pulp based Lyocell, however, shows some disadvantages such as forest destruction and easy fibrillation tendency in the wet state. So, in this study, we prepared cotton linter based Lyocell fibers with a lab-scale spinning apparatus and investigated the effect of spinning conditions such as the dope concentration, composition of coagulation bath, take-up speed, and air-gap length, etc. on structural and mechanical properties of spun fibers.
