제목 Goldnanorods-encapsulated thermosensitive drug carriers for NIR light-responsive cancer therapy
초록 Thermoresponsive polymers incorporated with photo-absorbing agents have been widely used for controlled drug delivery using light. However, conventionally developed thermoresponsive drug carriers have disadvantages such as low biocompatibility and implantation failure. In a recent study, gold nanorods (GNRs)-encapsulated PVCL(GNR-PVCL) particles were synthesized by SFL method. The SFL method enabled the fabrication of near-infrared (NIR) light-responsive GNR-PVCL microparticles of uniform size, that could allow for localized injection. To achieve NIR light-responsive cancer therapy, Doxorubicin(DOX) was encapsulated into GNR-PVCL microparticles. These particles exhibited NIR triggered drug release due to the photothermal effect of GNRs. We also demonstrated efficient intracellular release and anticancer activity of DOX upon NIR exposure. This study demonstrates that DOX-GNR-PVCL microparticles have substantial potential as implantable drug carriers enabling NIR triggered drug release.
