Ni-P alloy microtube was fabricated by using electroless plating on polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber with μm sized diameter as a template, wherein PAN fiber was incorporated with Pd nanoparticles in advance via the spontaneous reduction of sublimed palladium(II) bis(acetylacetonato), Pd(acac)2 in a glass reactor of N2 atmosphere at 180oC for various times. Ni-P alloy was deposited on PAN/Pd fiber in an electroless Ni-P plating solution, and finally PAN fiber was thermally decomposed resulting Ni-P alloy microtube. The tube was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and elemental analysis via energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis confirmed that the micro-sized tube was composited with Ni : P = 94.3 : 5.7 atomic %. |
