제목 Influence of Fluorinated Polymer Matrices on the Electro-optical Properties of Reflective HPDLC
초록 There has been a considerable interest in the morphology and electro-optic properties of holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal(HPDLC). Recently the effects of prepolymer structure have been received considerable attention with regard to HPDLC properties. In our previous studies, we obtained high reflection efficiency and low grating shrinkage by modifying polyurethane acrylate structure. Also, we found that the polymer molecular design plays a very important role in the HPDLC fabrication and strongly affects the electro-optic performance of HPDLC.
In this experiments, we have mainly focused on reducing the driving voltage of HPDLC with high efficiency. We modified the molecular structure of urethane acrylate oligomer by varying raw materials. Also fluorination of the host polymer matrices has been found to influence the morphological and the electro-optical properties of the resulting HPDLC grating. It turned out that the driving voltage changed according to the molecular structure of PU. The morphology of holographic gratings is examined using atomic force microscopy(AFM) and reflection efficiency were mesured using a UV-visible spectroscopy.
