Graphene oxides (GOs) have attracted considerable attention owing to unique physical, chemical and electrical properties. Their characteristic nanostructure and properties have potential applications as polymer composites. In this study, to improve the interfacial interaction between graphene and epoxy, amine functionalization was applied to GO via chemical modification using ethylenediamine (EA) and hexamethylenediamine (HA). The functionalized GO was characterized by FT-IR and TGA. Epoxy nanocomposites were fabricated with 0.1 ~ 1 wt% loading of amine functionalized GO. The effects of GO content on the mechanical and thermal properties of epoxy nanocomposites were investigated. Also, the effect of the alkyl chain length of the dimaine was studied. |
