Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have attracted attention due to eco-friendliness, economical advantages, and facile fabrication. However, liquid state electrolytes for most conventional DSSCs have weakness due to leakage and safety problem. Many researchers approached to surmount these disadvantages by superseding liquid electrolytes with gel electrolytes. But gel polymer electrolytes have low performance. To overcome these hinderances, we applied additives to gel electrolyte. Gel polymer electrolytes with a cobalt based Zeolite imidazolate framework (ZIF-67) nanofillers were used as electrolyte additives in DSSCs. Characterization of ZIF-67 electrolytes absorbance using UV-vis has resulted in higher value. Nanofillers disturb the recombination between oxidized redox couple and electrons in TiO2 inducing increment of Voc value. With ZIF-67 additives, DSSC showed higher Voc, fill factor (FF) and better power conversion efficiency (η) in I-/I3- redox couple under illuminated AM 1.5. |
