We have fabricated substrates coated with these particles, and used their dielectric sensitivity to create an optical refractive index sensor based on a spectral extinction measurement and show that gold nanorods and bipyramids can be used as a label-free immunoassay for biological sensing. In addition, a surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) directs the synthesis of plasmonic gold nanoparticles, which the nature of the CTAB layer is of considerable interest, since it is the key to understanding CTAB directed synthesis. Therefore, we use surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) to probe the structure of the CTAB bilayer on gold nanorod. Lastly, carbon–plasmonic hybrid nanosystems have been exploited for molecular sensing. Here, SERS-active substrates with plasmonic-carbon hybrid nanostructures for molecular detections will be also discussed. |
