Fabrication of Anisotropic Plasmonic Nanoparticles for Surface-enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) Active Substrates |

We have fabricated facile surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-active substrates based on anisotropic plasmonic particle with nano and mesoscale. Gold nanorods (Au NRs) and bipyramids (Au BPs) have been synthesized and they are embedded in and protruded from open-cell microcellular foam structure as a template. The microporous foams have uniform open-cell sizes with a couple of microns diameter by high internal phase emulsions. In addition, macro ring patterns of the plasmonic nanoparticles are simply prepared on silicon wafer by dried-droplet method using non-polar solvents. Silver hollow mesoparticles are synthesized and are formed micro arrays on silicon substrate. Here, we present structures using plasmonic particles are well suited for SERS-active substrates. |
